With 15 stops located around the centre, taking just 12 minutes to cross the city, it’s easy to visit the sights and if you’re not familiar with Glasgow we’ve pulled together some highlights all easy to access via the Subway. Better still most are FREE or discounted with your Subway Smartcard!
From Buchanan Street, take a stroll along the side of George Square to Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), Scotland’s most visited modern art gallery. From Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th February, you can take part in some brilliant arts and crafts activites inspired by Aaron Angell’s show, currently at GoMA. GoMA’s displays and exhibitions are put together with families in mind, so there’s always something to exciting to see and do when you visit.
Take the Outer Circle to Shields Road (two stops approx. 8 mins journey time)
Hop off at Shields Road and directly across the road you’ll find Scotland Street School, it tells the story of 100 years of education in Scotland, from the late 19th century to the late 20th century.
Take the Outer Circle to Kinning Park (one stop approx. 2 mins journey time)
Kinning Park Subway stop has lots of activities that all the family can join in with, like RollerStop and Laser Quest!
RollerStop is the place to be if you love skating. With family roller discos suitable for ages 4+ which include group games and acitivites, this is a great place for some fun with the family! Laser Quest is the number 1 brand of Laser tag boasting Glasgow’s largest multi level game arena. Take the Outer Circle to Partick (four stops approx. 8 mins journey time)
Work your way round to Partick to enjoy a visit to a firm family favourite, the Riverside Museum at Glasgow Harbour which is only a short walk from Partick Subway. Here you’ll find more than 3000 objects on display including an original Subway carriage from over 120 years ago!
Take the Outer Circle to Kelvinhall (one stop approx. 2 mins journey time)
From Kelvinhall, it’s only a short walk up to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
One of Scotland’s most popular free-to-enter visitor attractions, Kelvingrove is the most visited museum in the United Kingdom outside London.
With 22 themed galleries which display over 8000 objects, Kelvingrove has something for everyone and is the perfect place for a family day of exploring.

Take the Outer Circle to St Enoch (six stops approx. 12 mins journey time)
After all of the excitement of the day, tummies will definitely be rumbling so stop off for a bite to eat at Chippy Doon the Lane. Since opening in 2007 they offer a fresh and up-market twist on the old school fish and chips we all know and love; ranging from traditional classics such as Cod and Haddock to more contemporary choices such as Monkfish Tail and Coley.
